Beasts both anthropomorphic and quadrupedal live on an island in the middle of a frigid ocean, where the weather is almost always overcast. Some live as rogues either solitary, or in small groups, and there is only one orginized clan of beasts. Ruled by their leader, a white lioness, they live in a castle by the cliffs above the waves of the sea. However, the ones living outside the clan plot to take over their fortress to claim it for only themselves. Well, what else do you have to do in the jungles when you're not trying to survive? Thinking up evil plots is their hobby.

There is a large section for roleplaying things other than on Overcast Island. The topics are near limitless. If you would like to see a specific RP board under there, please message Sharra Kat about it. She doesn't want to take a whole bunch of time to make boards that people don't intend to use just yet.

Welcome to Overcast Island!
This is mainly a site for archiving and sharing FanFictions, but there is also additional areas for roleplaying, or just talking. Basically, it's a place where you can show off your writing by posting your FanFics, then go and RP in between sessions of typing them up. We have a mini-plot on an area called Overcast Island, and even though it's the name of the site, it's not the main focus.
So why not just use FanFiction.net?
Many stories with original characters on that site are bashed by members or more harshly critiqued than anystories with canons. Sometimes they're just completely ignored other than a handful of reviews. Overcast Island is a friendly community where you will not be so harshly judged unless you specifically ask for it. Original characters are welcomed, and canons just the same.
So come join the fun!
The site is run by a wacky, hyper leader, with members that are capable of being just as strange! MWAHAHA. ^-^

Currently celebrating the grand opening of Overcast Island! Please, if you are already a member, post! A lot! ^-^ Recruit new members, people! The more, the better! Merrier. Whatever. >__>
But yesh... we would love for you to suggest new sub-boards to put under FanFic and RP sections. They'll only be added once they're requested, because I don't have time to think of every possible thing I could go and put under there.

Posted here are the rules and guidelines to the site that you must follow. Ignorance is no excuse; we expect you to read it all. If you break a rule, you will usually get a warning, depending on how serious it is, but after that, you will face whatever punishments you deserve. We won't come down hard on you if it's just a minor thing.
If you need any help figuring things out, even if it's a small question on how to do something, or where to post, make a thread here and a staff or friendly member will respond ASAP. Also, if you have any suggestions for the site, please tell us. Any rude threads will be deleted
Here is where you submit all of your FanFic chapters so they can be approved and moved to their specific categories. Please make it clear somewhere in the story or title, what it is a Fic of, and what chapter it is if it's a continuing series. Please put One-Shot in the title if it's a one-shot. Try to be creative with the names. Don't put anything like "Kingdom Hearts Chapter 1" or "Pokemon One-Shot."
Here, each member has their own sub-boards with thread under it so they can keep track of their own FanFics. For example, they can create a thread for their Legend of Zelda FanFic. In the post, they can list a link to each chapter. Under that, people can post comments and such that they have on it. If you want an example, look at Sharra Kat's.
This board is meant for FanFictions based on Anime or Manga, such as Naruto, Bleach, or any others. Manga that were first a video game, such as Kingdom Hearts, would be under Video Games rather than Anime/Manga. There are many sub-categories that could be placed here, but unfortunately Sharra knows very little about most of them. Please, if there is a section you would like to see here that you intend to make a FanFic of, message her.
Here's where FanFiction based off books, goes. Things like Warriors, Harry Potter, and more will be here. If you want to write a FanFiction about something that is not listed here, please message Sharra. She only wants to have ones up here that she knows people will post on. We are perfectly aware Manga are books, but it fits more under the Anime section, don't you think?
Ah... video games. Very few people that are reading this right now dislike them. Here are FanFictions of the many video games, from any console you can think of. Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Zelda, Okami, and many more are here. Pokemon is a video game, as well as Naruto and a few others, but those will be under the Anime section, where they belong. Again, if you have a FanFiction you want to write about, but it is not listed, message Sharra Kat.
Post one thread here, only, please. You can take information, bios, or whatever, and post it here so you can keep track of all of the characters you use in your FanFictions. Canons don't need to be posted unless you want to post them. Creating a thread here isn't mandatory, but is recommended if you have lots of original characters.
Post one thread for each character here, to get it approved. We expect that you have all the necessary things required in a bio, such as name, gender, appearance, etc. These are where all the characters for the site mini-RP, on Overcast Island, are accepted.
Here, all of the characters that will be roleplayed in the site's main roleplay area, are posted. These are approved characters, and cannot have their bios changed unless you ask a staff. This is to make sure nobody adds a bunch of nonsense and claims that that part was approved.
If you want to keep track of all of your roleplaying characters, you might want to post them here. Create one thread and put all of their bios there. Characters for the 'Other Roleplaying' section don't need to be approved, unlike the ones for Overcast Island.
An enormous castle surrounded by a thick, twenty-foot high wall lies near the south coast of Overcast Island. This is the fort in which the clan of Overcast Island lives. Inside the castle is many hallways, rooms, stairs, and it goes up to five different stories, not counting the one below ground. Towers sprout up from many different areas of the stone castle. Near the front of the castle, out beyond the walls is a cliff that drops down into a giant crack in the earth, that falls to the ocean. A wooden drawbridge seals the entrance, and can lower so creatures can get across the gap.
In the center of the island is a dense jungle, where bands of rogue beasts live. They refuse to join the island clan, and work to destroy them so they can have the castle all for themselves. The eastern area of the jungle is swampy, and the northern area sprouts up into a mountain. Many deadly enemies lurk within the overgrown foliage, and if you have the guts to wander in here, it is advised that you don't go alone.
The quiet shores are covered in soft white sands, the icy waters lapping at its edge. The waves are rough only in the deeper waters. The grass fades into sand as a hill rolls down towards the waters, the ground rising up on both sides into tall stone cliffs. Brave beasts will sometimes jump off a cliff into the waters, or go swimming out near the large waves.
For those most adventurous, (and for the ones who don't get seasick easily,) there are a few boats, all different sizes, that are tied to a dock close to Frost's Fort. The smallest boat can hold two creatures, while the two largest are big enough to hold half the clan. Really far out, you may even run into a few icebergs, and violent waves. Only the most skilled captains can steer through some of the obstacles.
There are many different sections you can roleplay under, such as Kingdom Hearts, wolves, and many other things. If you think you have an idea that would make a popular roleplaying board, please message it to Sharra Kat. Otherwise, just do it under the 'Other Roleplaying' section. Try to stay at least semi-literate, especially with intros. Please be sure to read the roleplaying rules on the rules board! Thanks.

You can be random, talk about things, create polls asking people about their favorite types of.... um... pie. Yea. That works. Pie. Talk about pie all you want. However, a link on your name is fine, as long as you don't say 'Click my name!' 4. Do not try to mention any past arguments on any sites, even if you're trying to make a point. 5. No starting arguments or participating in one. Peacemakers, don't try to be the hero and attempt to sort it out, you'll get no where, trust me. Wait for a staff member to handle it. 6. No chatspeak, apart from lol, brb, g2g, etc. No things like 'will u rp w/ me 2day?' 7. No insulting other members, mocking them, or bashing anything that they like. For example, if 'Bob' likes Kingdom Hearts, don't start spitting insults about how it's dumb, childish, etc. Nobody wants to hear your negative opinions.
